My first time using oils on mixed media paper...the jury is still out for me! :)
About Rachel Bochnia
I have always created since the time I was old enough to hold a pencil. Art is the only thing that has ever made me feel free of the everyday rut that can be life. I work in any drawing and painting medium that I can get my hands on. My work doesn't have themes,it is directed by moods or pictures in my head. I enjoy portraiture, landscapes and going where my imagination takes me. .

Wow, this is gorgeous, Rachel! You've also got me wanting to look for mixed media paper after reading your description of it as an alternative to canvas. Your work is lovely.

Thanks Mary! It was a fun experiment! :)

Its a heavy weight paper, similar to vellum, but not a smooth vellum. The pad I have from strathmore is 18x24...it takes gesso real well for oils, and also can work well with acrylic, gouache and water color.Just another alternative to canvases which can get so pricey these days!
